What is a mountain chart?

A mountain chart is a financial chart or graph with peaks and valleys, shaped like a cross-sectional view of a mountain, usually showing the growth of investment over time, is a common way of presenting the Fund's past performance and/or forecasting future performance.

Where have you heard of the mountain chart?

If you have ever read the fund's charter or report, you may have seen the mountain chart.

The information you need to know about the mountain chart...

The essence of the mountain chart and the line. Chart same, but fill color in the blank space under the line. A mountain chart is a useful way to quickly understand a large amount of information over a long period of time. However, it must be examined carefully, as it can create the illusion that growth is higher than it actually is.

For example, if you draw a mountain chart for a currency such as the British pound, instead of calculating a percentage, the degree of growth looks higher than it actually is. This is due to a major advantage available to long-term investors-compound interest. The essence of compound interest is interest, although the figures are large, but not performance indicators.

Like all historical data for any fund, the mountain chart will only provide you with information about past performance and is not indicative of future success.
