The key is how to read the bar chart. The bottom of the vertical line is the lowest price of the day and the top is the highest price of the day.

Each vertical line will have two horizontal line branches. The left horizontal line is the opening price of the security and the right horizontal line is the closing price.

These four figures provide a visual representation of the security during the trading day and are the basis for further technical analysis.
