What is a Position?

You can take one of the following positions in an asset transaction: If you believe that the asset will appreciate, you can take long Position if you believe that the asset will depreciate, you can take short Position.
Where have you heard of positions?
You may see traders "short" selling stocks in the news, I .e. taking short positions in anticipation of a decline in the stock price.
The information you need to know about the position.
If you decide to "buy short", you will buy stocks or other assets that you think will appreciate. If your expectations are correct, you will make a profit by selling at a high price.
"Short selling" points broker shares are borrowed and sold on the open market. If the share price falls to a certain level, you will buy back the shares and return them to the broker.
For investors who choose to buy short, the main risk is that the assets they own may depreciate in value, resulting in losses. For investors who choose to sell short, the main risk is the appreciation of the shares they borrow.
